In wild times and in wartime, in times of fear and illness, I go to Tintinnabula, where soft rains fall. Tintinnabula is a story about moving from discomfort to peace, from violence and uncertainty to a still, sure place. It reminds us that our best friend in hard times can often be ourselves.
Margo Lanagan writes novels and short stories, mainly fantastical. Her work has won a slew of awards, including four World Fantasy Awards, two premier's awards and two CBCA awards, and been translated into many languages. Her most recent novel is Sea Hearts, and her most recent collection of short stories is Singing My Sister Down and Other Stories. The first two volumes of the Zeroes YA superheroes trilogy (written with Scott Westerfeld and Deborah Biancotti) were New York Times bestsellers, and the series concludes in September with the third volume. Margo lives in Sydney, writing in her backyard workroom and singing, reading, cycling and swimming in her spare time. Rovina Cai is an illustrator from in Melbourne, Australia. She creates intriguing images that make you linger, hungry to know the story behind them. Her work is often inspired by the past; from fairy tales to gothic novels, these stories resonate with her because they bring a little bit of magic and wonder to the present day. Rovina has exhibited and worked internationally with clients across a variety of genres, illustrating books, magazines, posters and even a video game. In her spare time she can be found sketching in museums, or working on eccentric craft projects.
